Bridge the Gap: Practical Math Structures and Scaffolds for Tier III (Grades 2-5)

Who Should Attend?
Classroom Teachers, Interventionists, Special Educators, and Coaches
At A Glance:
How do we close the gap for the many students who are currently struggling with great amounts of unfinished learning in math? How can a student show progress in both their readiness goals as well as current grade-level content?
This 2 day mini series will provide research-based routines, structures, and practices for small group instruction, especially in Tier III specialized learning scenarios.
Participants will gain tangible strategies for implementing rapid cycles of targeted instruction while linking a more explicit relationship between what's happening in Tier III and its impact on Tier I core math class.
Sessions will explore how to overcome challenges associated with dyscalculia, finger agnosia, and other content-related delays. Each session will offer focused plans related to specific content.
Teachers will leave with explicit routines that ultimately close the gap from “readiness” to “grade-level.”
Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
✅ Improve a clearer connection and transfer between what happens at Tier III and Tier I
✅ Use "Thin Slicing" to close the gap between unfinished learning and grade-level expectations
✅ Use Cognitive Load Reduction Theory to implement concrete routines during shorter small group instructional blocks
✅ Dig deeper into the neuroscience behind numeracy
