Who should attend? Curriculum directors, K-12 principals, instructional coaches, K-12 educators
AT A GLANCE
This workshop will focus on supporting educators and school leaders in building their capacity to successfully implement the recently revised Vermont Educational Quality Standards (EQS).
The 2024 EQS is an important education policy, informed by the Act 1 working group, that promotes specific evidence-based instructional strategies that aim to ensure all students are provided culturally responsive, inclusive, anti-racist, and equitable classroom instruction.
Session participants will learn how to effectively incorporate these strategies into their daily practice at both the classroom and school level. In addition, potential barriers to implementation will be discussed to better understand how to navigate challenges that may arise.
OBJECTIVES
- Understand ways to build collective capacity towards translating policy to practice.
- Develop a shared understanding of the EQS instructional strategies.
- Recognize potential implementation barriers and how to overcome them.
- Identify how to build off of current initiatives to incorporate the EQS instructional strategies into current practices and routines.
